About the role:
They are expanding the development team, due to growth within the business financially, and a desire to expand their product offerings. The successful applicant will drop into the team, and work tightly with the team members responsible for UX creation, data engineers, and BI analysts. They believe in autonomy, and as such, the role has a large degree of freedom, and also input into the development of the business, products, and department.
What will you be responsible for?
- Work within a development & UX team of 6, building products from conception to production
- Help to develop coding standards, best practices, and knowledge sharing
- Develop overall concepts for improving the user experience of the product
- Monitor site performance using appropriate tooling (New Relic, Lighthouse; Page Insights)
- Implement/Maintain continuous integration tools to keep code updated
- Implement/Maintain new features into a framework used across multiple sites & applications
- Optimize and review SEO across the sites, implement changes where necessary
- General bug fixing on the frontend & backend of the websites
- Collaborate with the whole team to build, maintain, and improve products
Required experience:
- Solid understanding of web technologies and standards (HTML; CSS; JS)
- Deep experience in server-side languages such as Node.js, PHP, python, or c#
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. CodeBuild)
- Experience using AWS Technologies such as (e.g. Lambda; API Gateway)
- Experience using Git.
- Familiar with but not reliant on JS frameworks (e.g. React) and CSS pre-processors (e.g. SASS)
- Familiar with building/managing Webpack configurations
- Familiar with site monitoring tools (e.g. Page Insights)
- Understanding of SEO best practices
